8th Ramzan – Wafaat of Hazrat Saeed bin Aamir (R.A)
The sacred month of Ramzan is not only a time of fasting and worship but also a month of remembrance — when we honor the noble companions of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ whose sacrifices and faith shaped Islamic history. The 8th Ramzan marks the Wafaat (passing) of Hazrat Saeed bin Aamir (R.A) — a companion known for his humility, justice, and deep devotion to Allah.
His life teaches us how true Iman transforms hearts and turns ordinary believers into extraordinary servants of Allah.
Who Was Hazrat Saeed bin Aamir (R.A)?
Hazrat Saeed bin Aamir (R.A) was among the noble Sahaba who witnessed both the harsh era of Jahiliyyah and the guiding light of Islam. He belonged to the respected Quraysh tribe of Makkah.
Before embracing Islam, he witnessed the martyrdom of Hazrat Khubaib bin Adi (R.A) — a moment that pierced his heart and shook his soul. Khubaib’s steadfastness in faith opened the gates of Iman within Saeed’s heart.

His Embrace of Islam
Unable to ignore the truth any longer, Saeed bin Aamir (R.A) accepted Islam and migrated to Madinah. His love for the Prophet ﷺ and his devotion to the Deen made him one of the most respected companions.
He became known for:
Zuhd (simplicity)
Taqwa (piety)
Adl (justice)
His heart remained detached from worldly wealth and connected only to Allah.
His Service in the Islamic State
During the rule of Hazrat Umar ibn al-Khattab (R.A), he was appointed the Governor of Hims (Syria). Despite his high position, he lived as a simple servant of Allah — wearing modest clothes, eating little, and giving most of his income to the poor.
When people complained that their governor rarely met them, Hazrat Umar (R.A) summoned him. Saeed (R.A) replied:
“I divide my time between serving the people, worshipping at night, and avoiding dunya.”
Hazrat Umar (R.A) wept and said:
“Praise be to Allah, Who blessed me with such men.”
The Wafaat of Hazrat Saeed bin Aamir (R.A) on 8th Ramzan
The 8th of Ramzan marks the departure of this righteous servant of Allah. Passing away in Ramzan — the month of mercy — is considered a sign of Allah’s pleasure.
His death brought grief to the Muslims of Hims and Madinah, who remembered him not as a ruler but as a man of justice and compassion.
His Final Moments
As death approached, he recited Quran and expressed gratitude to Allah for blessing him with Islam. He left behind no wealth — only a legacy of piety and humility.
